Lencois Maranhenses park is located in Maranhão eastern coast and  is formed by Humberto de Campos, Primeira Cruz, Santo Amaro  and  Barreirinhas cities. The main attraction is the Lencois Maranhenses Park, a nice and curious nature phenomenon. Barreirinhas city is the access for the park.

Lencois Park is an ecological paradise with 155.000  hectares of dunes, rivers, lagoons and mangrooves. Exuberant flora and fauna, an unforgetable sunset, large dune areas and many other surprises are some of the attractions that the turists will find.

From São Luís, thorugh MA 402, the Translitorânea, 3 hours by bus or car. There are daily buses leaving from the Bus Terminal in São Luís. By small airplanes the trip takes about 50 minutes and the advantage is that the Lencois overview is gorgeuos.

Going down Preguiças river is a nice trip. During the trips some stops are made in order to appreciate the dunes, the lagoons and the landscape that are really breathtaken. There are the villages like Cabure, Atins, Mandacaru and Farois from where the view of the park is astonishing. Cabure and Atins have some small lodges here you can stay with confort.
